Perhaps the most frustrating of debates when people talk about movement quality when power, something very measurable, is now lost in a sea of adjectives. Currently I hear I want to get so and so to move better before we load them. Perhaps because they are not loaded ever or spending all their time prone and supine activating muscles is the prime culprit. I am not a numbers guy or claim to be a stat master, but splits and relationships of numbers is the end game. How fast? 20.8 with a -1.2 wind. No mystery there. When someone is working on movement patterns or drops trendy anatomy I smell the fact they can’t coach comparable exercises or have performance measures after they fix the athlete. I strongly suggest reading the Hurdler’s Bible as nobody had a better understanding in hurdling with time and distance. It’s a great read and enlightening.
