When I ask who won the Super Bowl last year nearly everyone knows the answer. When I ask athletes about the best performers in their event I get blank stares. If you are not a student of the sport you simply can’t be great as film analysis is just as important to elite track athletes as team sports. This year is especially frustrating with some coaches as I am hearing complaints of athletes not knowing their event or even thinking about it. I am not a fan of homework but I send video out using dropbox of practice and now I am going to include downloaded youtube files for review. If you are not great but never witness greatness, it’s a hard leap to get there. If you are a hurdler I suggest reading the Steve McGill entry about Robles and Oliver.
