Seahawks and Patriots? Every one is reading the Signal and the Noise but football has a small sample size and a lot of complex interactions. Predictions are bold and a lot of risk of sharing what you believe, but I like the fact Nate had a process, not just a gut instinct. On the other hand, the gut is sometimes a very deep sensory response that is sometimes right. I don’t think gut feelings should be a guide, just a warning that something may not be right. I like gut feelings to prevent us from being overconfident, but not to make decisions. I think it’s a good idea to talk more about how we come to conclusions about predictions, risk taking, science, and working with real people. Sometimes what looks good on paper is not the truth of what works in the real world.
