I recently gave several talks at the Florida Association Coaches Association. I rarely speak at track & field specific clinics any more but that’s what this one was so I put together the rare (for me) event specific presentation. There are far smarter hurdle coaches than me. I’ve coached 2 world class hurdlers who were both very good before they ever came to me. Most of the hurdle training I do is with my multi-event athletes. As a result, my usual dilemma is how to improve hurdle proficiency in the most efficient way possible since we can’t afford to spend more than 2 sessions (and usually just 1) a week on hurdling. I take a very bare bones approach to hurdle training that is based on the constraints of the event that is reflected in this slidedeck.
