I have seen you jump several times this year (I coach sprints & horizontal jumps) and the main things that go through my head are ‘that guy looks big’ and ‘he would be an even better jumper if he had a little bit more speed at takeoff…especially in long jump’.

2 days ago I was 193, hopefully 190-191 this weekend … trying to get down to 183 for regionals. I pretty much stopped eating anything but meat, salad, fruit and nuts.
I do bound a lot because of triple jump, and this outdoor season so far I haven’t done anything for max speed, only acceleration eg. 30-60m sled pulls.
I think my main problem up until now was that my highest speed on the runway happened about 5-6 meters before the board, and even that was never the max speed I am able to run with. This changed a little this past weekend in the long jump. Hopefully I’ll be able to improve on it a little more soon.
