Great post, Carl. I think your comment about velocity per step highlights one of the most overlooked components of the 110 meter high hurdles event – optimal stride frequency. Each of the four steps (per flight) has a unique speed characteristic but little research exists on how those characteristics by step contribute to aggregate time per flight. Do you have insight concerning why there is such a lack of information and are you “excited” about the event because new technology (in addition to Dartfish) has been developed to better capture data?
