Today was an Ext. Tempo day. 2x4x200m with 200m walk b/t reps and 5 min b/t sets. I would have liked to cut the rest between sets shorter but I'm just getting back into it so my body cannot handle such high volumes with low rests yet.
It was a decent workout. For some reason I was very tired on the track and I got like 10hrs sleep last night. I felt flat at first (as noted by some form deficiencies arising). But after the first couple reps I was good to go. It was just getting going.
My back started hurting towards the end, but it's better now. It just kind of scared me running the last two reps with my lower-to-middle back hurting on both sides.
I also noticed that when I concentrated more on dorsiflexion to counteract my sub-conscious plantar flexion action that the speed of the reps because just that much faster frying me at the end. But, I got over it…..after spitting (not throwing up yet) in the trash can :barf:
Luckily tomorrow is just a Seagrave day so I get the active rest going. I think I'm going to go enjoy me a nice warm bath in some Epsom Salt….much needed 😉
