Today was an Acc. Dev. day…..9x20m / 3x30m
GREAT workout! I don't know how else to say it.
I started off really kind of flat in my warm up and I thought I was going to have to stop early or something, but when I got going, boy did I get going. Without even trying I stayed relax the entire workout as well as achieved some really good knee drive and just overall fast runs. On my 2nd 30 an older woman asked to jump in and run just for the hell of it, so I let her….funny stuff.
I'm itching to get out and race now the way things are going and I'm seriously starting to regain some confidence that I've lost as of late for many reasons. But it's all coming back to me now.
Next week is an unloading week which I'm not really looking forward to because I'm finally starting to get on track, but I know it's necessary so I grin and bear it. However, next Saturday (the 31st) is my first competition so I'm most definitely looking forward to that. I wish I could videotape it and put it online, but I don't have the funds or equipment to do so.
*Side note – On acc. dev. days I just put the sets/reps that I do, but I don't do just straight sprints. I mix it up with standing, falling and three point sprints (just in case anyone was wondering or cared 😆 )
One question I have for everyone is what am I going to do about weights? I won't be lifting the rest of this phase so I can help my mom, but starting in SPP (February 2) I'll be lifting consistently again. What I'm wondering is how I should phase everything out….
SPP – 8 weeks
Pre-Comp. – 8 weeks
Comp. – About 8-10 weeks (two tapers involved)
Any help appreciated….
Tomorrow is a tempo/interval day so I get some more long work in….whoopey!
