The post made me think about the fact that the glutes are very important for running, and they need to have sufficient strength, (here comes the important part =) trained not only in slow velocity (for rehabilitation) but aspecial at high velocity movements (also for rehabilitation) with a strecth shortening cycle (with safe progression). Waiting for morpholigcal adaptionens is to slow. I pretty much guess the same can me said for foot mechanics???
Also monitoring gate is not sufficient. Gait needs to be analysed in relation to soft-tissue and neuromechanics. PT tests might not be 100% in relation to transfer but they are much better than gait alone.
Gait and Thomas test might be a good start.
