You forgot Chris Noffke (born 88), 2005 World Youth Champion – 7.95m (8m windy) at 17.
Thornell(born 85) actually jumped 7.99 U/20, Crowther(born 87) equalled his record this year.
I know Lapierre and Thornell both went to westfields sports high school in sydney and are coached by world masters champ Fred O'Connor (82 years young). Crowther really exploded this season when he moved to the AIS to train full-time ( australian institute of sport), noffke has had a few injuries but again his reults last season were phenomenal.
Ive been at the track training when thornell does and the most ive ever seen him do is 3x150m at about 80%, never seen him do any jumping – he must do it at other times. I think that these guys are just amazing natural athletes. Fabriece jumped 14.52m in Triple at 14 or 15. Thornell also jumped 2.12m in HJ and ran 100m in 10.70 when he was 17.
I hope they all can go on to better Jai Taurima's Silver in Sydney 2000 with a national record 8.49m.
We have a few more decent jumpers at the AIS too, Tim Paravacini PB 8.20 and Scott Crowe.
