Long story short I raced one of my best friends from babson, former TJ/100m runner in highschool, current bball player. I actually lost to him. I was SHOCKED to say the least. It was a big wake up call for me, I realized I have gained a good amount of negative weight since coming back to school from eating WAY too much and WAY too unhealthy as well as from a bit too much partying.
It made me take a long look at things, and question track, and what im doing with it, why I do it, and a bunch of other things. Its not as though as if he was bad, if he was doing TJ at school he would be at nationals based on his high school jumps. He is also very athletic, and it hurt losing to him, and mentally its been tough getting around the fact that I did lose. The fact that I was partying Thursday night very hard I was just told how hard (im not very happy with some things), does not help, but im done with excuses, I LOST. And now im going to deal with it.
Me and him have scheduled a time after his bball season for us to re-race so I can give him the smoking that I know I can when I am on my game.
Workout was supposed to be 5x length of a football field@ 85-90% + shuffle width around entire field =1and do it continuous
My lungs were still very beat as I was doing the workout, the cold made it even worse. It felt as though every time I was running my lungs were being hit with a frigid cold baseball bat. I proceded to do the workout but eventually just walked the widths, and took about 15sec b4 running the lengths. The fifth time around it felt like my legs were just cycling and I had no pushing into the ground and I was barely moving, it was bad.
Got into the weight room with Kwams… put him through a leg workout, while I started to do one, my head was POUNDING. I sorta stopped.
I managed to do a bit of cleans though, and some easy squats as I was showing him what to do.
