I don’t think that anybody here would call an elite sprinter “weak.” Unless of course they are referring to the expression of that strength on an exercise such as the clean or squat. I think we can all agree that it takes a lot of strength to propel yourself nearly 9m, however I’m certain that there are at least a dozen (conservative) members who would put Carl Lewis to shame in the weight room.
With regard to Dwight’s clean, 1+1 doesn’t always equal 2 in this case or we would see numerous olympic lifters with VASTLY superior clean poundages running world class 60-100m. History has proven this point over and over.
Assuming the details of this article are true, it would appear that Dwight is/was working with submax weights as a supporting role….
