I would say if we’re judging based on who they’ve coached in the past the obvious top 4 would be Francis, Smith, Pfaff, and Tellez. Perhaps just below them in recognition and athletes coached would be Shaver, Anderson, Winkler and Frye. Since most of those coaches are either semi-retired from collegiate coaching or only coach post-grads, the choices for collegiate programs would be limited to U. Texas, U. Tennessee, LSU, South Carolina, and Illinois. I’m sure I’ve probably left some people off here so please fill in the blanks. I also realize that some of the coaches mentioned may not be many people’s favorites on this board but their results are unquestionable and instead of ripping them let’s just add to the list rather than put anyone down.
Obviously, as was mentioned earlier, there are probably tons of great coaches who’ve never had the blue chip talent to put them on this list and would still make great choices.
