A common mistake that most coaches/athletes make is wanting to run faster/jump higher/jump farther after a big pr. For some instances, you can string some good races or jumps in succession, but that is more the exception rather than the norm. I would much rather see some stabilization in a repeated consistent efforts. With consistency, bigger performances will eventually come rather than always trying to go big or go home.
I love Joe Walker’s quote, “Adapt before you add” Let the stabilization come before trying any more changes.
