I straddle the line on this one. I recognize that asymmetry is natural and that the only research I’m aware of on the subject (symmetry and performance) actually shows that better performers are MORE assymetric but I also understand that asymmetries can become functionally disruptive. More times than not this seems to be asymmetries of the more proximal joint strengths, flexibilities, etc (especially in lumbo-pelvic-hip complex) than further down the chain.
