hey star61 when you do box squats do you try and keep your shins perpendicular to the floor? becuase i find it very ackward to do it thatway… plus its alot harder to move the weight up that way…
Box squats are awkward for me because I'm a "quad dominant" squatter. That is to say when I do a conventional squat my knees tend to move slightly forward of my toes. When I box squat I take a wider stance and sit directly on the box. I then lift straight up from that position which recruits more from the hams/glutes/hips rather than the quads. I'm purposely doing box squats to improve my deadlift and hip/glute strength.
