Not sure who is suggesting being a parent 24/7 and change is tough, but doing something because ” I said so ” isn’t always going to work. Blood testing in my experience with the right athletes will make them change far more than giving random advice or hoping for change.
With all due respect, I have seen kids, including athletes, eat candy and drink soda by the gallon when they had diabetes. Almost all kids have unprotected sex knowing of consequences of disease and pregnancy. Kids are educated to the fact that if they would just eat healthier, they will have more energy for training, have better body composition and better performance. Knowledge seems to have very little impact on many people. I don’t think a blood test that shows they are deficient in Vitamin D is going to result in any change in their eating habits, nor do I think their going to spend money on additional supplements…maybe the first bottle, but not on a regular basis.
