James:
An articulation is where two or more bones meet, in other words articulations are joints. The kinematic pattern is not an articulation it is a kinematic pattern. Angle-Angle diagrams and other charts never refer to articulations as changing, they refer to the ROM in time and space in other words they describe mobility of the articulation.
Whether you think I speak in condescending fashion or not, you can choose to ignore me, or even refer to me in past tense if you wish to choose take an indirect route at challenging what I am writing.
You keep using the term professional without understand or perhaps fully contemplating what “professional” means. Professional in adjective form you have used with Carl and I is defined as this “characteristic of or befitting a profession or one engaged in a profession.” A profession is essential a learned occupation. I like to think of coaches as both scientists and artists, which means there is room for discourse, debate, and analogies. If you cannot take critical analogies such as the “kool-aid” one Carl likes to use as his personal preference then I of the same token cannot take your insistence on maintaining a purely subjective opinion of maintaining professional conduct within your standards, I have to use my own, and Carl his own, and Mike his own, Evan his own whether I like their professional conduct or not. The best part about Elitetrack.com is it not subject to as much group think as other forums to include Charlie Francis and Barry Ross’s meaning the ideas and discussions in this forum are held to local standard and ideas and innovations can evolve from disagreement. Necessity is not the mother of invention, disagreement and discourse spurs higher levels of thought which produce the necessary need for change or alterations, because without it nothing will change because there is no necessary need to change.
It’s seems like it is Carl bashing time by outsiders, and while Carl and I don’t agree on everything, we do agree on some things. You have come onto this site and espoused your beliefs, most of which I do not agree with. I realize Carl was calling you “The Thinker” and referred to your espoused beliefs as Kool-Aid and in both contexts why I can think he would use such a term as Kool-Aid I agree with him. All you have offered is Kool-Aid. I would rather suggest you try a different approach and if you can not alter your delivery and pitch then I believe the reception and retorts will be the same from members like myself, Evan, and Carl who have had far more disagreements between the three of us than the 2-3 topics you have put forward.
So I have two questions to ask since it seems you are from the Eastern Bloc and Dr. Yessis side of things. The latter I firmly believe is guilty of intellectual laziness in his Kool-Aid he’s profiteering on the web and in print.

2. For an elite athlete is generalization in training necessary, when and why?
