I think it would be a lot closer than many think. Consider that there have been numerous 10 flat 100m guys in the NFL and none of them have run as fast as Johnson did at the Combine. I think that if the race occurs on grass without blocks, it may be very close at 40 yards or so.
Usain has nothing to gain and everything to lose if he were to agree to such a race. Not to mention the repercussions for the perceived viability of track and field to the public if Johnson were to be close or even win.
Nope. Grass in Jamaica? Please. The race is only close if it’s short. I can stay within a meter of a gold medalist in the 10m dash. I have no speed.
