Had a pretty mediocre last chance meet yesterday… bordering on lousy…
Weather conditions: rainy, humid, 44 degrees feels like 36… pretty gross, especially for May…
HJ: NH. Started at a height I should easily make and can 3 step, didn't have my coach there, didn't approach the bar right, was too concerned about slipping to making any good attempts. Live and learn.
LJ: 5.20. Nothing special.
4×400: 59 split, 3:57.96 overall. This was a good time for us because we had our top 2 runners sit out. The 4 of us were pretty much running to get 1 or 2 places on our 'A' 4×400, so for us to quailfy (just barely) was pretty amazing. There are 5 of us vying for those last 2 spots, and I'm so glad again to not be the coach. Everyone wants to go to nationals, and everyone wants to be on a fast relay. I'm pretty sure the relay can get under 3:50 with good weather…
Overall I am not satisfied. I had a final in the morning, then we got stuck in traffic and arrived during flight 2 of long jump. Thankfully my teammate and I were moved to the third flight. Then I was running between long and high for about an hour between warm-ups and then competing. That was stressful for me and I didn't overcome it. Time to be a competitor.
