Thoughts, opinions? If it is just mild, why 2 months before sprinting? I’m very, very, very stubborn and don’t know if I can wait that long. Let alone more than 2 weeks.
At this point, it doesn’t matter how stubborn you are, it matters how stubborn your hamstring is.
I found the exercise at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDACWA0NvPM and the single leg variations to be extremely helpful in working out the hammy during recovery. I could curl well over 100 lb with my right (and un-injured) hamstring, but curling 30 lb with my left was a huge struggle at first. They’ve evened out since, but it took months to get them even close to the same.
Sprinters, especially good ones, aren’t known for their patience. But if you can reign that impatience in, you can still get a few good races under your belt this year.[/quote]
I incorporate that exercise into my workouts already. I love it. I didn’t really plan to run races at all, but since I was so close to extending my streak I thought why not run a couple indoor races. My tentative plan was to race 2x in Feb. Feb. 13 and 20. I did curls yesterday with 30 lbs. Felt very light, but was tougher on my left hammy. Right now it fatigues very fast.
