I am working with a XC runner that is a 50.6 relay guy, 2:00 800 guy, and poor distance background. Couldn’t complete 3 miles nevermind run hard. He is built like Coe and is a perfect frame. Anything we should do? I like to go 70/30 low int to high int in volume and he has doubled his volume from last summer with no injuries and change to his blood work.
My other kid Abdujeer Mohan Kamid went from 17:05 to 14:53 (5k)before heading back to Africa. He is rich so drives all the time and runs only to train. We go 45 miles a week holding 60% of V02 max or repeat miles or quarters 1-2 week in additon to CHEK work, ART and massage, Aqua running. He is turnign 18 in December and is trying to be an american. His dad owns a few hotels over in Monaco.
