Shins were quite sore today from 4 days of consecutive track work. I didnt have school/ practice either (Good Friday). I did a light General strength circuit in conjunction with some treadmill work.
400m (10mph)
10 Pushups
20s Prone Stability (L+R)
20 Sit-Ups
400m(10mph)
10 Burpees w/pushup
20 Mountain Climbers
10 Split Squat Jumps
30sec Side Plank
400m(10mph)
10 Lunges
10 Superman
10 Swiss Ball Pass
400m(10mph)
15 Prisoner Squats
15 leg Scissors
15 Swiss Ball PushupThis was definetly tougher than i thought it would be (broke a sweat!). Does this circuit substitute tempo runs? Its alot easier on my shins, esp w/ the treadmill. Any comments?
Looks really similar to the one I used made by Dan on this board.
I used it during my winter GPP pretty extensively when it would be too cold to run outside. It worked out really well for me.
I don’t think it would be as good of a tempo substitute during SPP/Competitive phase but it seems like you’re really limited because of your shins.
Does your school have a pool that you could do work in?
