State Coaches Meet today, which is the 1st BIG meet of the year.
weather: originally rainy, but cleared up pretty nice for the 400. mid 60s, 5-10mph cross wind.
400m- 1st, 49.60 Big PR, very smart race. 1st 50 made up the stager on the 1st seed, next 150 relaxed, 2nd turn positioned myself and came off the turn and ran 1 kid down ftw.
4×4 – about 1 hr later. 49.7 anchor, very relaxed, and oddly it felt very very easy, like when i coast a 51.
so here is my concern. From looking at my training, anyone think im “peaking” too early? 3 most important meets are May 30, June 6th and June 13th. My lifting has been consistent, at 2-3x per week, though i droped heavy squats for 2 weeks. Sould i resume these for another week just to revist max stregth or continue with more explosive lifts. i was planning on lifting max stregth this monday and the next. i will not be competing until next saturday in the state relays
