They actually seem to be two distinct talents. Standing jumps from two feet are more dependent on concentric strength / explosiveness. In standing jumps the athlete is doing most of the work. Running jumps place a much higher demand on eccentric strength. In running jumps, the athlete needs to be strong enough (mostly eccentrically) so that they can take advantage of the speed they've developedand spring off the ground much like a bouncy ball springs off the ground. The stiffer the leg at takeoff the better in running jumps.
