How about partials? Starting with the bar at mid shin level or just below the knees? You can develop some very fast hip extension doing these, you can maintain a lordotic/neutral spinal position with heavier loads, and I personally don’t find them anywhere near as taxing as pulling from the floor.
I love partials, especially for non-weightlifters. We do something very similar from low racks. We change the height of the rack from about knee height to just a few inches below full extension. Much less stressful and easier to maintain proper form.
If you’re doing Olys, I do agree with other posters that deadlifts from the floor, both snatch and clean grip variants, will help advance your Oly pulls.
