I actually prefer my stories to come from Morgan Freeman, but to each his own. 🙂
And I was just curious, but are you suggesting that we take all those people who make outrageous claims down the valley and slaughter them? haha. If so, I might have a few suggestions . . .
In all seriousness, the smoke and mirrors are never going to go away. We are a society of instant everything: diet and food, exercise, weight-loss. Shows like the Biggest Loser are refreshing this day and age given that you can watch Dr. 90210 cut out the fat instantly on E! Vern talks about fitness starting at a young age and I really believe that is where it has to start. Condition kids to believe that hard work + solid long term plan = success and instant success is usually followed by instant failure. Crash diets crash and crazy training = haphazard results. It is like all my athletes cramming for their tests, they will do well on the test but forget the information quickly. It is through comprehensive learning while progressively increasing knowledge that will carry one’s knowledge past the 2 hour exam.
