The studies you're looking for are likely in European journals or are unpublished. Knowledge of this stuff has actually existed (although not conclusively) in some from since the 60s. The results are somewhat debatable. I have seen some of this data from East Germany. I actually don't or very rarely static stretch immediately following my high intensity days. The idea is that you are introducing conflicting stimulus at the athlete which can compromise adaptation. I static stretch on my easy days, after long travel bouts and intermittently throughout the day.
