With fall conditioning scheduled to start soon, I wanted to know the difference between general strength vs. general endurance circuit(s) as well as samples of each. I know there are circuits where exercises are performed for a certain number of reps, other exercises performed for a certain number of seconds…is that the difference?
Cheers,
Hmmm…you may just be slicing it a bit thin…but it's always good to try to be precise!
🙂
I think that it may just be a matter of verbiage…someone correct me if I'm way off on this…
Regardless of # of reps vs. timed reps, in any exercise bout there is a work interval and a rest interval. Even if the reps are counted, there is still a time component, i.e. how long did it take to complete those reps. The relationship of work:rest variables indicate the nature of the exercise bout/training element.
The overall nature of general strength is that of low-intensity work to promote recovery and healing from high-intensity training components, and when performed with small work:rest ratios, to improve overall work capacity and body composition.
Any other thoughts?
