I listen to music, but have thought I may need to move from it so it’s not a shock when I am not allowed to use my headphones. I find that I don’t really realize that I am in a zone when I get there. I can’t really explain, but everything is a blur and the focus is so strong that you don’t think about anything, but the final goal or image the race. I’ve gotten into it a few times. I don’t realize I am there until the end or just after the race. I don’t really walk around with a scowl on my face when I’m really into it. I often yawn (strange) and I occasionally for no reason get chills or goose bumps. I can get them in 90 degrees. It’s very strange, but I’ve run well when that’s happened. Using the positive experience from the past, I get excited when that happens. I also tend to pace a lot.
