    Would this exercise dramatically increase explosiveness on my part? Is it on par with squat/deadlift in terms of a quality exercise? I've read that hamstrings are very important when it comes to explosiveness so I figure the exercise will be worth doing about twice a week. What d'you think?

    its a good exercise when perform correctly, there is not one exercise that will increase speed and power its combo of all things – sprints/jumps/throws/weights etc etc. hammy are very important but i have found out that its better to perform more hip ext hammy work when the sprinting load is high – like rev hypers/gm/rdl/sdl etc etc. if you lift 3 days per week try and work the hammy directly at least 2 of the 3 days bc most of ur other leg work will involve hammy in some way. u may want to start just by doing ghr every workout as a warmup, lets say maybe 15-30reps before u get into ur main lifting.
