I think that it’s a Very reasonable statement to say that you could run those times. Now I don’t know everything about you, but if you can run a 11.4 in hs you could probably get down to breaking 11 flat in college. Espescially with that weight training. I would never pick up a weight in highschool for fear of becomming an “anchor on the track”. Take a look around at all of the elite sprinters of today with the exception of Kim Collins of St. Kitts (that guy’s just a freakshow), all of them possess greatly defined sculpted bodies. If your shorter, look at Mo greene, Ato Bolden and Coby Miller, If you’re taller look at Crawford, Gatlin, Asafa and Capel. It looks like somebody’s holding a track meet between body-builders. We’re talking about the best of the best Ever to come along. They must know something about something.
However, remember with weight-training Always to stretch, stretch, stretch, or else you will tighten up and become as stiff as a tree out there. Which will ruin you. Consider your flexibility as important as every other category such as technique work, weight-training, hills, fartliks, anything.
And why stop there my friend, why not shoot for 10.4? This is not impossible, in fact, your chances substantially improve with Every hour you spend out there on your track or in that weight room. But most of all- – – Harness your fire for what it is that you do. Use it against them. Find meaning in all of the training which you’re doing out there. Find meaning in the sweat that comes down your face. Strive at your goals not because they come easy for you as they do for some, but rather, Because they present question, present difficulty. Choose to run a 10.4 not because it will be easy for you, but because it will be hard. And trust me, anything which you desire to accomplish in this lifetime will or will not be achieved because You choose to or not to. Running a 10.4 is a choice you have my friend.
It’s inside of you now, you just have to be enough of a man to bring it out.
