i spoke to a PT earlier today and this is what he uses for his athlete who have hamstring injuries grade 1/2, im curious what you guys think?Week 1:
Ice 2-3times per day
Compression
Elevation
Rest and < activities
Stretch 2-3 per day
Advil
Stim/iceWeek 2:
Cont above and add activities:
Speed work half -¾ speed
Work on balance
Intro backwards running
Work on acc/deceleration half-3/4 speed
Progress to plyosWeek 3:
Cont and add
Sport specific drills
That's almost exactly the protocol I'd prescribe for week 1. I wouldn't do the backwards running on week 2 though….that's a quad dominant movement which even if performed with a high heel recovery would still likely widen any strength imbalances between the hamstring and quad.

so minus the backward running, does everything else look good for grade 1 or 2 strain. when would you start to do strength work ex: squats, stepups, rdl, glut ham, and maxstrength ems? also do u think the plan below is too aggressive?
3 days total rest
Rest/ice/wrapped/elevation:
Ems 3-4 times per day above site
Stay off feet
advil
Day 4:
Ems on site once per day
Ems above site 4 times per day
High int on other body parts (lower back, gluts, quad, left hammy)
Self Massage after 3 days, Stretching, Release of Muscular tension at insertions and other muscles e.g. Hip flexors
Start one leg drills raising the healthy leg
Advil
Day 5: depending on recover
drills
10m accels easy
2-3x10x10
Advil
