Any suggestions on good ways to determine your max heartrate. I’d like to be able to translate my heart rate per my monitor into a % of my max heartrate.
The guidelines of 220 minus your age seem grossly oversimplified and grossly incorrect. For example, I know someone who is 45 who said he recently got his heartrate above 200 when he intentionally pushed himself to the max to see how high he could get his heartrate. So the old rule of thumb does not even remotely work for him.
