the key to this thread was he ask each of our opinions and i gave my opinion.. if thats the case i have gotten great results with my methods my basketball team is top 10 in the nation, and i have football players also etc. joe defranco and all of these guys arent during anything special and that includes me also just good old school training.
Yes he did indeed ask your opinion, but all you said was "NO" you didn't even offer an explanation. They aren't doing anything special? They used strongman style training in place of lowerbody max strength work this summer, and several of his athletes improved very nicely. One of his athletes ended up being the number one ranked linebacker in the country. With your logic of strongman training being crap, tell me how this happened? Because strongman clearly doesn't produce results.
I'm not going to argue that your training doesn't produce results, i'm just saying that you might want to consider opening your mind a bit so information doesn't slip away. Not going to accuse you of thinking you are a "know it all" but I had a conversation today with a gentleman, and he said something that is great advice.
"A close-minded man, or one who thinks he knows it all is going to be a failure." Just consider things without rejecting the right off the bat. Maybe you have already considered it; so for the sake of discussion tell us about why you did(not) like it.
Just curious, what team do you coach?
