It depends on the person as far as when you will be upright with high hips. If the person is slow then they might be finished accelerating at 20m and should be upright whereas Usain Bolt might not get there until 50-60m down the track. I have told athletes to think about keeping there core tight or to get the shoulders back a smidge more if it looks like they are hunched and have low hips. Would be interested to hear some other cues that people might use on here. With regards to your first question, I don’t think there should be a point where we every say ok…gotta be tall now. I think if the athlete is always trying to progress to vertical with a smooth transition with progressive body positions then it’ll happen when it’s suppose to.
