No, that’s not what I’m suggesting. The straddle has some significant disadvantages compared to the flop.
What I am suggesting is that the curve is absolutely necessary to make the Fosbury Flop technique work up to it’s potential. If you run the last stride of your approach straight (and therefore not leaned away from the bar), then all all of the curved approach before that last straight stride is a wasted complication.
