It's not really the absolute amount you can lift, it's your relative measures maximum strength and power and how well you can apply them specifically.
When you first start lifting the fastest adaptations are made neurologically and most of your resistance training applications as a sprinter should focus on the neuromuscular aspect, not mass or endurance as those can come along as needed by the volume and load of training that is increased by these neurological components.
