Sorry about your bad meet, maybe your coach just wants to make sure you don’t peak too early? I don’t really know the situation, but I know that one of the most important factors of being a decathlete is the ability to shake off a bad meet or event, as you aren’t made or broken in one event/meet. I wish I had some advice on how to do this, but I have the same trouble sometimes. I guess the best thing to do is get a good rest, and focus on the things that have been going well in your training. Hang in there, I’m rooting for you. I know we all are.
Hey, thanks man, your right about shaking off meets. Im pretty good at it usually and this one meet I have no problems with, it was just the trip that killed me. I was very technically sound at the meet so I can at least take that and leave the outcomes.
The head coach is absolutely not my coach and has no idea about me peaking or anything like that, he just wants to look good. One of those situations where good athletes make the coach rather than the other way around. My events coach was pissed about the whole weekend too. But, your right maybe after a day or two of rest ill feel good again.
