AM Weights
Split Snatch: 10 x 1 (moderate weight; alt legs each set)
Superset 1:
¼ Jump Squats: 4 x 8 @ 30% bodyweight
Behind Neck Push Press: 4 x 5 (as heavy as you can lock out and re-rackcomfortably / safely)
Reaching Lunges: 2 x 10 + 10
Practice:
Took a few shot put throws and was stand throwing same as my glide, remembered something I saw in Mike’s analysis of rotational shot about hips coming up then back down then back up and implemented that into my glide. After that all my throws were at least a foot or two more. My throws coach had me doing something similar recently in the discus where I drive my right knee up as travel the ring and its been helping a lot too.
Tried to do some 1500 pace work but locked right up after 400m just like at BYU, i am going to try again tomorrow as a warm up but instead of going out at a pace I am going to take the first lap slow and then speed up after, I did something similar at Nats and i had a pr in the 1000 so hopefully it helps.
