On the 1 lift pre meet…. can’t you get the same effect from medball throws??
If you mean high intensity medball throws like OHB and BLF then I think you could to some extent but I don’t think you’d get the same strength maintenance effect. I think it would provide a very similar CNS primer stimulus for the following day but because the load is limited (<20 lbs) the side of the force velocity spectrum that I'm trying to hit will not be adequately stimulated.
When designing a strength training program do you find them more event specific or specific to the individual?
Much more to the individual. In fact my strength protocols for jumpers and sprinters could be interchangeable if not for athlete based individualization.
