For those interested the last 3 days in Nick’s current setup is a 3 day mini-block version of something that I mentioned a long, long time ago as a training setup that I’ve had great success with for NFL combine guys, winter push sport athletes, and one post-collegiate long jumper before. We’ve discussed it on the forums before but I can’t seem to find the thread(s). In a nutshell, I intentionally put 2 very high intensity days back to back but make the emphasis for each day so drastically different that instead of CNS drain and excessive fatigue we actually get a potentiation affect. The details (loads, exercise selections, exact execution of the exercises, etc) are really the key in making it work.
