Good day today overall. The last 2 days rest were great for me as i felt really fresh today. Short approach jumps have been a bit strange for me this year. I’m usually really good at them, for example my best ever from 14 is 7.45m and from 16 it is 7.62m. This year it seems a little different. I am not attacking them like i used to, i’m more foccused on being legal and getting great height over distance. I’m also finding it easier to take off from a full approach than from a short one. This is exciting and i’d much prefer it this way than the other way around. Today i was 6/9 legal jumps and i had real good take offs on about 5 of the jumps. My sport psych consultant came to training today and we worked on a new routine starting 5 minutes before each jump and ending when i start running. It worked well and will be something i will keep working on.
