I’m guessing the VJ wasn’t too far off (if at all). Eric said it was the highest he’d ever been measured at. There’s definitely a learning curve to using our measurement system and testing VJ is really just an offshoot of what it’s really intended to do. Also, we don’t test the same way Nick tests. Nick uses a drop-step (maybe 2?) which dramatically increases the height that a person can jump over a standing start position. It’s probably a little more relevant but also has cons. I suspect if everyone in the group were tested using a 2 step drop-in there results would go up substantially….probably around 10-15% (see the recently posted sport science video on Ronaldo[/url]).
Overall though, tests were great. We had some blazing 30m times (3.81, 3.88, 3.89), two 90cm+ vertical jumps (from the stand start), and almost across the board improvements in the throws.
