I’ve started calling them “hip mobility drills w hurdles” to differentiate between those and other more “hurdle” drills “flat” sprinters would use far less often, sorry, to me they are not the same thing.
The root questions I would ask would be:
[a] what makes the competition warm up different than what you do prior to a training session…time frame, urgency (higher level of intensity to start with due to situation etc.?), different warm ups for different training (speed v. tempo say)
related to [a], if you have found them a very positive in training as part of warm up, why would you NOT use them before comp (ignoring the whole other tone thread for a moment)with the disclaimer already mentioned (volume)?
