U20 200m; 1st 21.8w – Got out quite fast, relaxed round the bend and picke up on the straight, even though I had a wind behind me on the bend it felt sluggish, felt as tohugh I was sitting instead of really driving forward (which I was judging by video) and leg turnover didnt feel too good. Me mate said it looked really comfortable however. Threw up again shortly after – I’m gonna blame this on having brekfast at around 9.30-9.45, warming up at 10.30, racing at 11.40 ish. But i can tell I’m not storng enough really to run 200ms – just havent done enough training runs over 200m in 2010, mainly been 100m speed endurance stuff (150s flat out, 100s and 150s intensive tempo) Havent gone further than 250m in training, and that was onyl two reps in one session. Was very cold out there, was freezing in the stands afterwards. Not a bad start to the day.
Senior 100m; 2nd 10.7 – Got beat by the World Youth silver medallist over 110 hurdles (we went in seniors for competition), he got out a lot faster than me and it was over at 60, but I gained some seriosu ground on him in the last 40, jsut ran out of track – he got given 10.6 but there was just a few hundreths between us judging by video and other people watching … Again it was cold and the wind was a side/diagonal wind, probably aided us a bit but not by much. I take hand times with a pinch of salt but I’m still content with that as at worst it was probably 10.90.
