Really focusing with my coach on executing my drive phase. Watched them back on the slow motion camera and my first step is ‘classically good’. Follows the technical model, good extension, knee drive, straight line from heel to neck. Second step is awful – im overstepping, knee collpases in, form collapses, back collpases etc … the whole drive phase pretty much goes. I then seem to recover and my 3rd, 4th and 5th step are alright. Certainly better than when i first started with him.
He ttok one video from behind and it was startling how much my first step comes out to the side, the second step then has to balance this and he believes this is what is causing the overstep and sudden collapse of form and halting the drive phase as soon as its started. he said my faaling starts a very good, but the blocks is a bit weak. Also my head seems to be pulling the whole of my body down as it is down. Do i just need cues to correct tihs. I did it in my faaling starts and he said there was a definitive improvement.
