UPDATES!-
Doctor says, “You’re 100%!”
Body says, “Let’s do this!”
Mind says, “Bout damn time!”
So I’m officially doing something that I’ve been putting off for awhile. I’m training for the 400 indoors.
Reasons:
1- New event- every meet is going to be nerve wracking and it’s going to light a fire under my ass!
2- New training- I’ve been doing a very similar method of training for years. I feel like a different stimulus is needed to adapt better.
3- Wisconsin weather/ training facilities. I can work accel up to 40 consistently and can do 90% and below work, but anything above 90% that is more than 40m becomes insanely difficult.
4- 200/400 training partners (I have two now)
5- I split 47’s indoors on a flat track in college. My 200 PR has dropped significantly since then.
6- 400 specific endurance work is going to allow my body to brush off a 200 like its nothing.
Things that suck:
1- Wait, I have to run two laps?
2- Seriously didn’t I just pass this place?
I’m actually excited as hell. This is exactly the challenge that I want!
