Ok, meet report:
The drive was only around an hour and I felt pretty good even though I didn’t get the best sleep. Warm ups and build ups felt good also. However there were multiple timing errors and malfunctions throughout the day. When it came time to race Davan and I both found out that the 55 straight away is horrendous. I didn’t remember it being that bad but the rubber surface is worn down so much that your spikes poke through and hit the concrete underneath it. At the starting area you can see where everyone does starts since the concrete is starting to show through. It was a rock hard track and had no energy return.
Prelims I went 6.41 and 6.39 in finals. I’ve never felt so good and had such a shit time before. They also didn’t put up the mats at the end of the straight so I crashed into a damn wall. That was amazing.
Can’t wait to go to a well run meet at a good facility. Ugh. The only good thing about today was that Davan and I had a competitive race so its good practice for both of us.
