The meet was at Carthage College. To say the meet, the starting line, and the overall racing was terrible would be an incredible understatement. There was a false start in all, but 1 of the 55m heats (men & women). For the first women’s heat, they ran it over 4 times because of 3 different starting malfunctions. There was great irregularity in how long you were going to be held in the set position (seeing everything from quick guns where no one was set to close to 4 seconds in one of the hurdle races). They were errantly handtiming some of the 55m prelims and then giving FAT times that didn’t add up to what would be expected. Lanes were randomly drawn for the final. My spikes are blunted now because of the track. Need I say more? lol
Josh ran well in spite of the situation–I didn’t run as well as I should have. We both ran much slower than we are capable of, I believe. If Josh gets to a better facility and keeps up the hard training, he should be down to the 6.6s for the 60m soon enough.
